→ Personal Head Canon - Feron fell in love with Liara. Despite her attempts to move pass Shepard and accept the possibility that Shepard would not return to her, Liara was unable to be with Feron without thinking of Shepard. In between Mass Effect 2 and 3, I imagine she had a heart to heart with Feron, explaining everything and apologizing, finishing with a big “I never stopped loving him/her” and Feron accepting that he was in the horrible position of unrequited love. So he chose to stay by her side and serve and guard her than to face the universe without the one person who had cared enough about him to risk their life.
